Katie joined Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley in 2010 shortly after graduating high school. She began her career in The Lily Garden as a part-time floater before becoming a Pre-K assistant teacher. After earning her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Katie became the Lead Pre-K Teacher, working with children ages 3½ to 5½.
Katie’s classroom focuses on play-based learning that encourages independence while supporting social-emotional, cognitive, language and literacy, and gross and fine motor development. She is passionate about creating a safe, healthy, and engaging environment where children can grow, explore their imaginations, and build the skills needed to be kindergarten ready. Katie also enjoys teaching children about animals and the importance of caring for the Earth.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys camping, visiting the zoo, watching movies, and spending time with her friends and family.
