Our Instructors
Kate DesBiens, CCC-SLP
Kate is a certified speech-language pathologist and lifelong music lover. From an early age, she participated in a variety of musical activities, including choir, band, orchestra, and marching band. Studying voice, percussion, and oboe gave her a strong foundation in music theory and performance
Within speech therapy, Kate often uses music to support communication development, social engagement, and play skills in children of all ages and abilities. Kate is excited to combine her speech therapy expertise and love of music to create inclusive musical experiences for Easterseals families.
Daniel Mason, M.S., CCC-SLP
Dan was raised in Massachusetts and earned his degree from Northeastern University, where he played on the offensive line. He went on to complete his master’s degree in speech-language pathology at Northwestern University.
After a brief return to the Northeast for hospital-based pediatric care, Dan moved back to Chicago in 2014 to join Cawn-Krantz and Associates. He continued with the organization through its transition to Positive Development and remained there until joining Easterseals.
Outside of work, Dan is a devoted Boston sports fan and longtime drummer who loves music.
