Nick's Journey to Confident Communication

Nick started receiving services at Easterseals for seven years. He has gained confidence, self-awareness, and the ability to advocate for himself.

Twelve-year-old Nick has received speech therapy services for the last seven years, along with occupational therapy and social work services. He struggled communicating his thoughts, feelings, and personal needs. 

Through the collaborative team efforts, Nick steadily grew in confidence, self-awareness, and self-advocacy. He found more than just his voice. 

Speech Language Pathologist, Jihyun Jung, M.A., CCC-SLP, incorporated Nick's interest in electronics during his therapy sessions. He looked forward to every week and sharing his successes with her.

The therapists take an individual approach and use the best strategies and techniques that work the best for each child.

Nick has started middle school, is joining extracurricular activities, making new friends, and continuing to excel academically. He has officially graduated from speech therapy, and while his journey at Easterseals has come to an end, his future is just beginning!

    Julian's Journey

    Julian was born three months premature and diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when he was two-years-old. Julian attended the Lily Garden Childcare Center for over three years, which offered tremendous support to him and his father. Julian made significant strides in learning social skills, achieving more independence and making friends in his class.
