Big Strides

There was no playbook for Jack’s parents to follow through his premature birth, NICU stay, cerebral palsy diagnosis, or countless doctor visits. But when they found Easterseals, they found direction, support, and hope.

Through a combination of aquatic, occupational, and physical therapy, Jack has continued to build strength, confidence, and independence. Along the way, he has mastered new equipment, reached important mobility goals, and celebrated milestones both in and out of therapy.

As a preschooler, loving big brother, and active kid, Jack is constantly on the move. He keeps up with friends on the playground, enjoys sports camp, swimming lessons, and horseback riding, and continues to make remarkable progress. From taking independent steps and standing on his own to pedaling a bike by himself, each achievement reflects the determination and joy that define Jack’s journey.

Today, Jack is doing more than reaching milestones. He’s building confidence, exploring new experiences, and embracing childhood with the freedom to participate in the activities he loves.

    At our Gala three years ago, we introduced Addy and Lily – twin sisters, who were born conjoined at the chest and spent nearly 11 months in the hospital before undergoing the surgery that would successfully separate them.

    We also honored a team of Easterseals therapists who supported Addy and Lily’s earliest achievements and are still a part of their milestones.
