This program is for children ages 5-12.
This program uses a dance theme and dance fundamentals to target core and leg strength, balance, bilateral coordination, motor planning, and movement sequencing. The group’s schedule will conclude with a final performance for family and friends on the last day.
This program is run by a physical therapist and an occupational therapist. A PT or OT evaluation will be required if the child is not a current PT or OT client at Easterseals.
Program Objectives
Improve core and leg strength, balance, and overall coordination through dance-based movement
Support motor planning, sequencing, and bilateral coordination using structured dance activities
Promote confidence, social engagement, and peer interaction through group participation and performance
Who Should Participate?
This group is recommended for children who can follow two-step directions and are currently working on balance, strength, and/or coordination goals. The program is well suited for children who are motivated by dance, music, and peer interaction. Independent walkers, children who use assistive devices for walking, and those who self‑propel a wheelchair are all welcome.
