Overview

At Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley, we know that early support can make a meaningful difference in a child’s development. Our Early Intervention (EI) services are designed for children from birth to age 3 who may have developmental delays or additional needs.

Our team partners with families to build skills for growth, participation, and everyday success, providing practical strategies for daily routines.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Early Intervention Services

1. Contact the State of Illinois EI office that is closest to your home. After contacting Illinois EI office, a service coordinator is assigned to meet with your family and discuss your child's development.

Contact information for Illinois EI offices.

2. Schedule an evaluation to determine if your child is eligible for EI services. The service coordinator will explain the EI program and ask questions about your child's growth and development, medical history, and your daily activities.

  • If an eligible delay is identified, request a therapist from Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley when you speak to your EI Service Coordinators.
  • If your child does not meet the State of Illinois' EI eligibility criteria, their delay may still require attention.
  • To determine other options and receive a second opinion, schedule an evaluation at any Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley location.
