Overview
At Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley, we know that early support can make a meaningful difference in a child’s development. Our Early Intervention (EI) services are designed for children from birth to age 3 who may have developmental delays or additional needs.
Our team partners with your family to build skills that support growth, participation, and everyday success—providing practical strategies and guidance you can use throughout your daily routines.
A Step-by-Step Guide to Early Intervention Services
1. Contact the State of Illinois EI office that is closest to your home. Once you contact the State of Illinois EI office, they will assign a service coordinator to meet with your family and talk with you about your child's development.
2. Schedule an evaluation to determine if your child is eligible for EI services. The service coordinator will explain the EI program and ask questions about your child's growth and development, medical history, and your daily activities.
- If an eligible delay is identified, request a therapist from Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley when you speak to your EI Service Coordinators.
- If your child does not meet the State of Illinois' EI eligibility criteria, their delay may still require attention. To determine other options and receive a second opinion, schedule an evaluation at any of our Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley locations in Villa Park, Elgin and Naperville.
